Privacy Policy for Clive

Clive has no advertising, no analytics, no tracking of any kind, and requires no account. In normal use it collects nothing: your data stays on your device or travels directly between your device and your own servers.

Your host configurations and app settings are stored on your device. If you use iCloud, they sync between your own devices through your own iCloud account; we cannot see them. SSH keys are generated on your device and stored only in the device Keychain; keys created in the Secure Enclave never leave the device at all. Passwords are stored only in the Keychain. Neither ever reaches us.

Clive connects to SSH, Mosh, and SFTP servers only at your direction. The content of your sessions travels directly between your device and the servers you configure.

Feedback you choose to send

If you choose to submit a bug report or feature request from inside the app, Clive sends the following to our support service at help.commercialcat.com: the report title and description you write; a random identifier for your Clive installation; the app and build version, operating-system version, and device class; and your locale, preferred languages, time zone, interface idiom, and screen size. The feedback screen shows you this list before anything is sent.

This information is used solely to provide support and improve Clive. It is never used for advertising or tracking, and it is not shared with or sold to anyone. The random installation identifier only groups reports from the same install; it is not tied to your identity. To ask about or request deletion of feedback you have sent, email privacy@commercialcat.com.

If our privacy practices change in the future, this policy will be updated.
